Chelsea could save £150m if they choose to prioritise the development of Callum Hudson-Odoi instead of signing Jadon Sancho, according to former Blues defender Frank Sinclair.

“Is Jadon Sancho any better than Callum Hudson-Odoi on that left-hand side?” Sinclair said in an interview with GentingBet.

“When you look at the potential of both players, would you spend close to £150 million, which I’d expect would cost, to bring Jadon Sancho to this country or would you just stick to Callum Hudson-Odoi?

“Personally, I don’t think Jadon Sancho automatically gets into Chelsea’s team.”

And he clearly impressed former City teammate De Bruyne, who spent two frustrating years at Chelsea before his move to the Etihad in 2014.

Speaking on Instagram Live with his Belgian team-mates Romelu Lukaku and Axel Witsel, De Bruyne said: “He is crazy. It’s weird, I trained a few times with him and he was gone – unbelievable.

“Sometimes it goes like this but it is good for him. Now if you want him you have to pay… I don’t want to know!”
