Martinez, 22, has gained plenty of admirers this season after becoming a crucial member of Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan attack.
The Argentinian has netted 16 goals in 31 appearances so far in 2019/20, helping Inter keep pace with Juventus and Lazio in the Italian title race.
Barca are said to keen on signing Martinez because they view him as the ideal replacement for Luis Suarez, who is well and truly in the twilight of his career at 33 years old.
Barca have been linked with a move for Martinez, who has scored 16 goals in 31 games for Inter this season

It is believed the Blues’ offer is “much better” than Barca’s proposal for Martinez, who reportedly has a €111m [£97m] release clause in his current Inter contract.
Frank Lampard and co are prepared to trigger his release clause and could also offer around €10m [£9m] per season in wages.
Chelsea’s pursuit of Martinez is said to have left Barca chiefs sweating over their chances of signing him this summer, although Sport go on to insist that “everything is in the hands of the player and the final decision will not take long to arrive”.
