Chelsea look set to bring in a new centre back when the transfer window reopens, with it seemingly being a position of high priority for Blues boss Frank Lampard.
Lampard has been fairly undecided on his regular back two out of his current four centre back options this season, suggesting that he is not fully confident with the heart of his defence.
The Blues have reportedly enquired about Barcelona centre back Samuel Umtiti, according to The Daily Star.
The paper claims that 26-year old French international has already been offered to Arsenal and Manchester United, but his preferred destination is Chelsea.
However, Lampard is reportedly pushing ahead with their plans to sign Lille centre back Gabriel Magalhaes instead, according to the same report.
The 22-year old Brazilian has become a sought-after talent, with a number of clubs allegedly making offers to sign him, Chelsea being one of them.
It will be interesting to watch this one unfold.
