Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Secret Philippe Coutinho talks, Spurs eye Blues raid

Secret talks with Coutinho

According to The Mirror , The Blues have held secret talks with the Brazilian forward over a summer transfer. The former Liverpool player had hoped to complete a move to Bayern Munich following his loan spell however, the German outfit did not exercise their option to buy.

Coutinho has long been linked with a Premier League return following his move to the Catalonian giants. He has not been able to show the form and promise he once showed at Anfield lead to his £142million move.

With Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs all rumoured to be in the chase for the Samba Boy, Chelsea will hope that these talks and a good working relationship with the 27-year olds representative will be enough. It is rumoured that Barcelona would demand anything in the region of £80million to acquire Coutinho’s services.

Dembele pursuit contemplated

The Blues are in pursuit of a striker to aid Tammy Abraham however, there are different opinions as to who should be the main target according to the Daily Star . The striker shortlist is rumoured to include RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez in addition to Mouse Dembele.

Chelsea reportedly made an offer for the French striker in January however, Lyon had no intention of losing the services of their top goal scorer. It is thought that there is some resistance to the signing of Dembele due to the fact he has only scored one more goal than Tammy Abraham this season and the fee demanded by the French outfit is believed to be in the region of £45million.
