It seems like now is a perfect time to reflect on the season so far in this time of lull without football.
Frank Lampard came in at the start of the season, took charge of one of the biggest clubs in the league, in his first season as a top flight manager.
Expectations were rightly low due to the fact that Chelsea were transfer banned and could not bring in any new signings. They were weakened by losing star player Eden Hazard, and the odds were already against Lampard, Jody Morris and his coaching team.
But if anything, before football stopped, Lampard and his team were over-achieving. They were well on course to make that Champions League spot in fourth place in the league, and still in for a chance of a domestic trophy.
In an exclusive for Talk Chelsea, former Blues youth product Milan Lalkovic has been giving his views on how Lampard has done this season, and he is impressed.
“Yeah as a big fan, I think they are doing fantastically well. So many younger players getting there chance and doing well making there mark so hopefully that continues and when the season finishes they finish in the top four, which I believe they can.
“I’m not surprised because you can see they’re all good players its just whether they click for him and they actually did so fair play.”
