Lyon chief sends N’Golo Kante transfer message amid reports Chelsea are ready to cash in

Olympic Lyon chief Juninho Pernambucano has sent a social media hint that his club could be interested in Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante should he be for sale in the transfer window.

The Frenchman has been a revelation since arriving in the Premier League in the summer of 2015, winning the league title with Leicester City before completing a £32 million move to Chelsea.

The midfielder was again a key part of a title winning side as he became one of a few players to lift back to back titles with two different clubs.

Such has been his performances for both club and country, Kante is said to have attracted interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.

However, injuries have hampered the 29-year-old this season, reducing him to just 18 appearances in the Premier League so far this campaign.

Reports suggest that Chelsea and Frank Lampard are now willing to cash in on the midfielder should an acceptable offer be made for the player.

Replying to the rumour, Lyon Sporting Director Juninho sent two emojis, one of a pointing hand followed by the raised hands emoji.

Lyon are currently in seventh place in Ligue 1, ten points adrift of third placed Rennes, meaning that Champions League football is unlikely next season. The asking price would also be over double the club’s current record deal.

Therefore it is likely that the chief has his tongue firmly in his cheek when sending the message.
