Eden Hazard says he is watching his weight in lockdown after fitness struggles

Eden Hazard insists he is doing his best to keep his weight down during his quarantine period in Madrid.

The Real Madrid star is still recovering from injury but is yet to get his career in Spain underway since moving from Chelsea.

One of the reasons why he has struggled to perform so far is because of weight and fitness issues.

And the Belgium international has been criticised by some Los Blancos fans for his unprofessionalism after arriving at the Bernabeu.

“It’s complicated for me,” Hazard said of the lockdown to RTBF. “I’m trying not to eat a lot.

“I’m trying not to go into the pantry to eat a lot of buns, but it’s not easy.”

Despite his injury, Hazard is managing to work on his recovery alone at home.

And he is hoping to be fighting fit if and when the La Liga season continues after the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’m working with the physio online,” Hazard added. “He can’t come here anymore because he fell ill and has to stay at home.

“We started 10 days ago, but he sends me videos from home.
