Luiz explains Chelsea exit and love for the club
Arsenal defender David Luiz has opened up on his decision to leave Chelsea last summer but has expressed his love for his former side.
Luiz was involved in a shock transfer deadline day deal, moving across London to join the Gunners from the Blues.
“First of all, I was always very happy at Chelsea,” Luiz said to ESPN Brazil .
“And then, the understanding of knowing that my cycle was over, even though I thought it wasn’t going to end that way, in a quick decision.
“I decided to leave Chelsea before I even had my doors open at Arsenal. I know that Arsenal did not come at a great moment, they are heavy on defence, I will go there and I will have to pay the restaurant bill without having eaten.

“But I am going because I want something new for my life, I want to learn. It was not easy at first.
“Not only of adaptation, but withstanding the criticism, the sadness of many Chelsea fans for not understanding my personal decisions. My respect and love for Chelsea has always been true.”
Ziyech’s former coaches predict great things
Two of Hakim Ziyech’s former coaches, Hans de Jong and Boudewijn Pahlplatz, believe the Moroccan attacker will be a success at Chelsea.
Ziyech was signed from Ajax recently and is officially set to become a Blues player on July 1, 2020, although it could be extended due to the uncertainty of what is happening with the coronavirus outbreak.
“He has played in the Eredivisie for seven or eight years now and knows all about Holland,” said Pahlplatz, who worked with Ziyech at FC Twente, to Sky Sports .
“The step to the Premier League will do him good. He will be playing with the best players every day and that is a new challenge…
