Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Timo Werner contact made, N’Golo Kante stance on summer exit

Giroud willing to take pay cut to force move

Unsettled Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is preparing to accept lesser terms in order to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Frenchman is a target for Italian giants Inter and could accept less than his reported £135,000 a week wages at Chelsea to move.

Giroud’s current contract expires at the end of next season but at 33, the player looks set to depart the club in order to get regular football.

The former Arsenal hitman has barely featured under Frank Lampard this campaign, with the Blues boss opting to play Tammy Abraham instead.

However, despite the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid reportedly interested in his services, Goal report that Kante does not have any interest in leaving Chelsea just yet, unless the Blues outfit tell him that his services are no longer required at Stamford Bridge.

With three years left on his current deal, the player is likely to remain at the club for the foreseeable future.

Chelsea look to jump ahead of rivals in striker chase

Chelsea have reportedly made contact with the representatives of RB Leipzig’s in-demand striker Timo Werner.

According to Kicker, the Blues are now in direct competition with Premier League rivals Liverpool for the 24-year-old hitman’s signature.

Werner, a long time target of Jurgen Klopp, has scored 27 times in 36 appearances in all competitions this campaign, helping his team to third place in the Bundesliga and the quarter finals of the Champions League.
