Roma are threatening to derail Chelsea’s plans to re-sign former winger Jeremie Boga from Sassulo in the next transfer window, a report by Goal claims.
Boga, who has netted eight goals in Serie A this season, joined Sassulo from the Blues in July 2018 for a fee of around £3.5million.
But Chelsea saw promise in the young Frenchman and opted to include a buy-back clause in the deal, meaning the Blues could bring the 23-year-old back to Stamford Bridge for £13million.
Chelsea have yet to register an interest in re-signing the former Birmingham City loanee but Italian giants Roma have, with bosses of the Serie A giants having already held discussions with the winger’s representatives.

Roma, though, are not alone in the race to sign the former Rennes and Granada loanee, as Napoli, Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton are also understood to be tracking the winger’s progress, though the Toffees have not yet made a formal approach.
Boga would only be willing to entertain the idea of returning to Stamford Bridge if he was guaranteed regular, first-team football, something which was heavily lacking during his first stint in West London, which saw him leave on loan on four separate occassions.
Though Sassulo are not considered to be amongst Italy’s top clubs, many are believed to rate Boga as one of the best players outside of Italy’s top crop of talent.
In 25 appearances in all competitions this season, Boga, who started his career with ASPTT Marseille, has scored eight times and claimed four assists, which is a solid return.
Meanwhile, Boga was amongst the first footballers to be allowed to return to training yesterday, as Sassulo became the first club in Italy to resume training following the coronavirus pandemic, with the country beginning to ease their lockdown restrictions.
