Bayern out of Werner race?
Chelsea have potentially been handed a boost in the battle to sign Timo Werner.
The RB Leipzig man is one of the most in-demand strikers in the world, with the Blues, Liverpool and Bayern Munich having all been linked.
But according to club legend Lothar Matthaus, Bayern’s pursuit of Werner is now “finally over”.
“Werner has now decided to publicly refrain from switching to FC Bayern. I can understand the reaction,” Matthaus told Sky Sports Germany.
“This back and forth harms him and his performance. Since he extended the contract in Leipzig and was able to concentrate on it, he has shown outstanding form.

“Now he has let it be known that a move abroad would appeal to him more than a move to Munich. I think that the Werner and Bavaria chapter is now finally over.”
German outlet Bild also report that the Blues have made contact with Werner’s agent over a move.
Gomes eyes Chelsea move
Manchester United attacking midfielder Angel Gomes is keen on a move to Chelsea, according to The Sun .
United are currently tracking Birmingham teenager Jude Bellingham and hope to complete a deal this summer.
That has reportedly worried Gomes, who is unsure about the amount of game time he will get at Old Trafford next season.
The 19-year-old is out of contract in July and is now considering his options, with Chelsea a potential destination.
Frank Lampard has shown his willingness to give youth a chance this term and that may appeal to Gomes as he plots his next move.
Chelsea and other Premier League clubs are concerned that key broadcast partners may seek to renegotiate the final two years of existing rights deals.
