The Chelsea connection which could end this summer
It’s not unfair to suggest that the upcoming transfer window could be a frustrating time for Chelsea. The club are in need of reinforcements after a bright start to life under Frank Lampard, but a lack of funds could inhibit them achieving all of their goals.
The decision to halt the Premier League season has put the club’s plans on hold, but one thing seems guaranteed, and that’s the departure of several more experienced players. In that clutch of players is Willian, and as David Chidgey & Oliver Harbord write, the attacker’s departure will end Chelsea’s long love affair with Brazilian players.
The pair look back at the club’s history of Brazilian imports, the good, the bad and the ugly. You can read more about it here.

The advantage Liverpool have in the race for Kalidou Koulibaly
Kalidou Koulibaly’s time at Napoli appears to be coming to a close.
The Senegalese defender has gained a reputation as one of Europe’s finest centre-backs, but with club’s battling huge financial constraints in the wake of the coronavirus, it is almost guaranteed some will need to sell star players.
Koulibaly’s valuation sits at close to £90million and is contracted to the Serie A side until 2023. It remains to be seen if any of his suitors will make a move this summer, but according to the Express, it is Liverpool that hold an advantage.
The report states that Sadio Mane’s presence at Anfield will play a key role in convincing the defender, nicknamed K2, to relocate to Liverpool. The two are not only international colleagues, but they also spent time together at French side Metz.
