Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea have £50m Timo Werner transfer clause deadline

Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea only have 12 days to land Timo Werner for less than £50million.

The Germany striker has bagged 31 goals in 40 appearances for RB Leipzig this term, meaning a number of top European sides are chasing his signature.

Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly eyeing up a deal, while the Reds, United and Chelsea have also been linked with a move.

But if any potential suitor wants to sign Werner for £49million in the summer transfer window, they only have until Monday 15 June to do so by activating his current release clause.

After that date, clubs will have to negotiate a fee with Leipzig, who still have the player under contract until 2023.

Reports suggest Werner has set his sights on a move to Liverpool this summer.

According to The Athletic , the 24-year-old’s representatives held talks with Barcelona last month – but he remains determined to join Jurgen Klopp ’s side.
