Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia working on transfer for Flamengo youngster Gerson

Chelsea are leading the way on Flamengo star Gerson, with the likes of Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund also interested.

The Blues are going all out this summer after having a transfer ban in place last year.

Frank Lampard has been promised funds after a fine debut season to date which sees Chelsea fourth in the Premier League.

And he has already seen some return on those promises in the shape of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

Chelsea forked out £34m to land the Ajax playmaker shortly after the January transfer window shut.

And the Blues look set to beat Liverpool to the signing of Werner after triggering his £53m release clause.

But they are not done there and according to Fox Sports, Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia is working on another deal.

That is for Flamengo star Gerson, who has impressed this year.

However, it will not be cheap after the Brazilian outfit priced the 23-year-old at £30m.

It comes after the club rejected a bid of £16m from an unnamed Premier League team, believed to be Tottenham.

Gerson joined Flamengo last year after moving from Serie A outfit Roma.

The Maracana Stadium outfit signed him for £10.5m, making him the most expensive Brazil national ever signed by a Brazilian club.
