John Terry reaction to Aston Villa goal vs Chelsea spotted by eagle-eyed fans

John Terry gave his career to Chelsea as a player.

But his loyalties now lie with Aston Villa as he begins his coaching career – putting him in a tough position on Sunday afternoon.

Taking on the club where he enjoyed a glorious career and with former team-mate Frank Lampard in the opposing dugout, Terry was sure to have an element of split loyalties.

And eagle-eyed fans were keen to point out that he did not exactly look thrilled when his Villa side took the lead.

After being up against it for most of the first half, Kortney Hause scrambled home an opener against the run of play after a delightful Douglas Luiz cross had caused chaos at the back post.

As Villa players celebrated, the cameras panned to Terry and manager Dean Smith in the stands at an empty Villa Park.

Terry’s reaction was low-key to say the least as he clapped but barely cracked a smile as his beloved Chelsea saw their top four hopes dealt a blow.

Another said he “couldn’t have been less pleased” with Chelsea fans understandably loving his reaction and praising his “loyalty”.
