Chelsea have reportedly opened talks over potentially signing Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.

The Blues have already secured Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech ahead of the summer transfer window evening opening as Frank Lampard is finally given the chance to flex his muscles in the transfer market.

Lampard proven right

Frank Lampard has looked to dispel rumours concerning N’Golo Kante.

The midfielder has strangely been linked with a move away from the Blues this summer and, speaking before their first Premier League game back, Lampard said there was no chance of Kante leaving.

If he needed a reminder of Kante’s importance to the Blues, Lampard was given it against Aston Villa.

The midfielder was one of their most influential players and helped his side achieve near-total dominance in the middle of the park.

Going about his task with a usual quiet efficiency, he helped the Blues finish the game with 74 per cent possession.

Solskjaer on Gomes future

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Angel Gomes’ future at Manchester United is unclear.

The attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to Chelsea and his contract expires on June 30.
