Chelsea fans are convinced they’ve found the clue which will see Declan Rice leave West Ham this summer.
The Hammers midfielder is seen as a priority target for Frank Lampard in the coming months with Rice’s versatility to play in the midfield and defence appealing.
Chelsea fans are undoubtedly getting excited at the prospect of a third signing following deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner being confirmed and reckon the writing has been on the wall for a move for Rice for some time.
One Blues supporter posted a video filmed in April of Rio Ferdinand watching Rice and Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount playing FIFA.
In the clip, Ferdinand asks if the pair – who both came through Chelsea’s youth academy – if they’d like to play together at club level.
“Yeah I’d love to, I’d love to play with him at club level again,” says Rice.
“One thing we’ve always said as kid we’d love to play with each other at club an international level.
“But obviously you never know because of different paths and things like that.”
Unsurprisingly, the video is now getting Chelsea fans excited about a potential summer move.
“AGENT MASON,” said one fan.
“He would come back to Chelsea no doubt. The only problem is that west ham will want a very high price for him,” said another.
“Someone get this man back in Chelsea blue,” demanded a third.
