Chelsea and Man Utd finish in top four to guarantee Champions League football

Chelsea and Manchester United have finished in the top four to ensure their spots in the Champions League next season.

Leicester City missed out after falling to a 1-0 defeat at the King Power stadium.

The race for Europe’s elite competition came down to the final day with all three teams fighting it out to join Liverpool and Manchester City.

After a nervy start at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea ensured victory over Wolves with a quick-fire double late in the first half.

Mason Mount struck home a delicious free-kick before Olivier Giroud got the better of Conor Coady to give Frank Lampard’s side some breathing space.

Bruno Fernandes’ goal was enough to for Manchester United to win the fixture.
