Frank Lampard correct to snub Nathan Ake transfer as Man City move for ex-Chelsea ace

Frank Lampard has a chance to steal in and swoop for Bournemouth star Nathan Ake, who looks set to join Manchester City.

But has has chosen not to – and that would be a wise decision.

Pep Guardiola is looking to strengthen his squad with the transfer window now officially open.

As well as looking at a replacement for Leroy Sane, his defence has given him major concerns this campaign.

Both John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi have failed to impress while Aymeric Laporte’s continued injury problems have given Guardiola much to stress about.

And he wants to get players in early doors – with Ake close to a £41m deal, as well as Valencia winger Ferran Torres.

Bournemouth are happy to cash in after being relegated while Chelsea have first-option on the Dutchman.
