Chelsea transfer news: Leverkusen boss issues Havertz update, Milan want to seal Bakayoko deal

Chelsea were unable to win a domestic trophy in Frank Lampard’s first season in charge after they suffered defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup final.

Whilst the Blues are still in contention in the Champions League, a 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich means their chances of lifting any silverware this season are thin.

Will that impact the sorts of players they are able to attract to Stamford Bridge, or will it just underline Lampard’s need to strengthen his squad even more?

Here are all the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Bayer Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz has dropped a huge hint on Kai Havertz future.

Revealing he knew exactly what the attacking midfielder wanted in the future, Bosz said he was impressed at how Havertz handles speculation over a potential move to Chelsea.

“I won’t tell, it’s his business,” Bosz told German news agency DPA.

He added: “I talk to Kai a lot and try to sense what all this does to him – the daily transfer rumours, for example – and I notice again and again that Kai handles it very well.”

Asked if he knew when the expected move would happen, Bosz said: “It’s impossible to say. Maybe the decisive call will come today, maybe next week, maybe not at all.”

Blues boss told of Kepa deal

Jamie Carragher has warned that Chelsea must sell Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The goalkeeper was once again on the bench for Chelsea’s FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal and is heavily linked with the exit door after a poor season at Stamford Bridge.

Carragher warned that the Blues must change their keeper or else they will struggle to progress.

He said: “Chelsea won’t go any further unless they change their goalkeeper.”
