Former Chelsea player rues watching ‘a referees game’ in FA Cup Final » Chelsea News

Chelsea were forced to watch London rivals Arsenal lift the FA Cup Final in front of their own noses at Wembley last night.

Despite the team collectively playing very poor, Chelsea had the absolute world against them as well in the shape of a very poor Referee, Anthony Taylor.

Taylor once again reiterated the poor state of Refereeing in this country by making a string of terrible and wrong decisions against Chelsea. They weren’t even close calls, they were actually very blatant.

Sending Mateo Kovacic off for a second bookable offence, when it was in fact Kovacic who got fouled. Then totally missing the fact the Arsenal goalkeeper came out and handled the ball outside of his box in the latter end of the game – these were just a couple of terrible decisions made.

Why didn’t the @BBCSport still look like this? 🤔

Bit odd they showed it only inside the line 🙄

Former Chelsea player Paul Canoville sums it up perfectly in a tweet this morning, we all watched ‘a referees game’ once again in something that is becoming all too painfully regular.

I wanted to watch a fair game yesterday – not a referees game.
This pic says it All, but still can’t change the result.😳
Congrats Arsenal… 👏🏾👏🏾
