Kai Havertz to Chelsea hint issued by Leverkusen’s Peter Bosz over possible ‘call today’

Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz has hinted that Kai Havertz could seal a move to Chelsea as early as today.

The Blues are locked in talks with Leverkusen over a potential deal to sign Havertz, who is widely considered one of the most promising youngsters in European football.

It is believed Frank Lampard and co are still falling around £20million short of Leverkusen’s £91million valuation, but the German club are likely to come to a compromise.

Bosz has admitted he already knows where Havertz wants to play football next season, hinting that his star midfielder could join Chelsea imminently.

“Yes, I know what he wants to do, but of course I’m not going to give it away, it’s up to him,” he told Deutschen Presse-Agentur.

“I couldn’t say. Perhaps the crucial call will come today, maybe next week, maybe not at all.”

Havertz has become a key member of Leverkusen’s midfield since making his debut in 2016, registering 45 goals and 31 assists in 148 appearances for the club.
