Hakim Ziyech to get his dream shirt number at Chelsea as key transfer decision emerges

Willian is expected to swap Chelsea for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to France Football who claim that the Gunners have made the best offer to the Brazil international in terms of salary.

In addition, the report states that Willian has an offer of a three-year contract on the table from the 2020 FA Cup winners with the option to extend by a further year, thus he is expected to join the north London outfit.

Speaking about Willian’s future, Blues head coach Frank Lampard admitted he was hopeful that the 31-year-old would extend his stay

“No, because it is his decision,” Lampard said. “I haven’t got that answer. I know the situation at the club’s end. I have a great relationship with Willian, but I don’t actually know what the decision is.

“Of course, I am very happy with Willian. He has been brilliant for me this season with his input and work ethic, within the squad.

“But it is his choice and I respect his choice.

“He has been a great servant for Chelsea if he decides to move on, and if he does decide to move on then Chelsea will move on and we have to look forwards ourselves.”

Part of the moving on process will be to ensure the no.10 shirt – that would be vacant if Willian leaves – is taken by another player of the first-team squad.

There’s a number of candidates to take it on – including Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Meanwhile, Kai Havertz could be in with a shout if he completes a £90m transfer this summer.
