Michy Batshuayi offered to Leeds as Chelsea try to clear the decks » Chelsea News

Chelsea have offered Leeds Michy Batshuayi in a “cut price deal” for this summer, according to The Sun.

The Belgian striker was given a lot of trust by Frank Lampard at the start of the season, acting as the primary backup to Tammy Abraham.

However a series of poor performances saw him slip back to third in the rankings, and he was barely seen after Christmas after a couple of bad games.

That continues a disappointing career at Chelsea so far, with the former Marseille striker having been sent on several unsuccessful loans over the years.

Sending him to Leeds does seem like a long shot – Marcelo Bielsa will be keen to add depth up front, but Batshuayi doesn’t really seem like his kind of player. He’s hardly the high pressing, tactically intelligent modern forward that the Argentine traditionally employs.

At this stage, we will be happy with any taker for the Belgian, just to start clearing some space in the squad for our new arrivals.
