Hello and welcome to Frank Lampard’s final press conference of the 2019/20 season.
Chelsea are, unsurprisingly, out of the Champions League after a resounding 7-1 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich in the round of 16 with tonight’s game at the Allianz Arena ending 4-1.
Robert Lewandowski put the Bundesliga side in front after 10 minutes after Willy Caballero conceded a penalty by fouling the Poland striker who had beaten Chelsea’s high line.
The Bavarians made it 2-0 on the night thanks to Ivan Perisic and it could easily have been more before Tammy Abraham scored a minute before the interval, capitalising on a Manuel Neuer error.
Callum Hudson-Odoi had a fine strike ruled out for offside by VAR shortly before.
Corentin Tolisso came off the bench to score with his first touch when ghosting past Emerson Palmieri and the Italian full back was shrugged off with ease as Lewandowski scored again.
Chelsea were without seven first-team players for the game but Lampard was unlikely to be impressed by much from that performance.
Follow along below to hear what the head coach had to say with next season rapidly appearing on the horizon.
