Leicester goalkeeper and Manchester United target Kasper Schmeichel would be open to leaving his club this summer.
The Foxes shot-stopper has been a top servant at the King Power Stadium, having spent nine seasons there.
Denmark international Schmeichel, son of United legend Peter, has regularly shown his quality in the Premier League.
And at the age of 33, Schmeichel has little time left if he wants to secure himself a move to an elite side.
United have been linked with a surprise swoop this summer as David de Gea’s position in goal has been brought into question, especially post-lockdown.
The Spain No.1’s form between the sticks has been shaky at best, and his future is in doubt less than a year after the 29-year-old signed a new long-term contract at Old Trafford.
Kasper Schmeichel is open to leaving Leicester
Dean Henderson, who excelled on loan at Sheffield United this season, is a ready-made long-term replacement.
But given the England prospect is just 23, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would want a more experienced figure for at least the 2020/21 campaign.
Schmeichel fits the bill, and according to The Times , he would be open to an opportunity at a Champions League club.
He will only go if a transfer fee were to satisfy Leicester, who were ultimately pipped to Champions League qualification by the Red Devils on the final day of the season last month.
