Chelsea winger Willian officially announced his decision to leave the club last weekend, despite there being a two-year offer of a contract extension on the table.
But the Brazilian looks set to make the switch to Chelsea’s close London rivals Arsenal, in a deal that is expected to be announced any day now that he has become a free agent.
The 32-year old spent 7 years at Stamford Bridge, but was only going to stay if he got a three-year extension, which Chelsea did not want to offer.
But Arsenal do, according to The Daily Mail – and it is going to make for a very expensive veteran signing for them.
They say that Arsenal will pay Willian an astonishing £220,000-a-week once he completes his free transfer, which could be worth up to £35m over its course.
£35 million for a player that will be 35-years old come the end of his deal? That’s really quite something!
