Bayer Leverkusen have set Chelsea a short deadline to complete the signing of Kai Havertz.
The Blues have been linked with a transfer for the German throughout the summer window as Frank Lampard looks to bolster his midfield.
But the London side are looking at a hefty for for the 21-year-old, with the German side sticking to their £90m valuation.
And German outlet Bild have reported that Leverkusen will put even more pressure on Chelsea by shortening the time frame.
The Bundesliga side want transfer negotiations to be completed by August 28, which is 10 days away, to avoid distractions in pre-season.

But the report also states that the Blues are in a unique position to acquire Havertz, who became the highest-scoring 21-year-old in Bundesliga history this season.
Bayern Munich and Real Madrid could afford his price tag – but would only make a move next summer if the German is still available.
The midfielder has impressed Europe’s elite as he grabbed 18 goals and nine assists for Leverkusen this season.
But the youngster has expressed a desire to leave the Bundesliga side this summer, dropping his own hints on social media.

It comes as Chelsea have been urged to sign the 21-year-old by BT Sport pundit Owen Hargreaves.
“He’s a really good player,” the former midfielder said on BT Sport.
“He’s a great young player, but they have a lot of those great young players.
“I think they need some leaders in there. Havertz for £90million – you want ready-made, walks in and makes you a better team, and I think the worry is they spend right now £200m on [Timo] Werner, [Hakim] Ziyech and Havertz and they can still finish fourth or fifth.
But Lampard will need to get the deal…
