Latest Chelsea transfer news: Kai Havertz transfer twist, Blues lead Sergio Reguilon race

This summer period is a big one for Frank Lampard and Chelsea as they look to build on an impressive campaign last time around.

The Blues finished in fourth-place in Lampard’s first season in the dugout despite not being able to bring any new players in last summer.

So far, Chelsea have been busy – bringing in Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner – perhaps the two standout bits of business done by a Premier League club.

With that being said, the Blues don’t appear to be done yet. Here are the latest Chelsea-related transfer rumours.

Blues lead Reguilon race

Chelsea are “in the lead” to complete the signing of Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon, according to Spanish publication AS, via Sport Witness.

Reguilon is currently on loan at Sevilla, as the Spanish club prepare for their Europa League final against Inter Milan this evening.

The 23-year-old is liked by his parent club Real Madrid, but is not part of Zinedine Zidane’s plans next season.

Therefore, clubs are queueing up to sign the Spaniard, but if AS are to be believed, then Chelsea are leading the race.

Chelsea rushing through Havertz talks after fresh twist

Chelsea are rushing through negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen for their attacker Kai Havertz, according to transfer insider Kevin Palmer, via the Express.

Palmer states that Leverkusen and the Blues would like to have any deal completed by August 28 – the date that the Bundesliga club return to training.

Any potential deal could disrupt Havertz, and therefore, have a negative impact on his team-mates as they prepare for the new season.

The German side were initially hoping to receive £90million for Havertz, but Chelsea were not too keen to abide, and now Leverkusen may accept £80million.
