The perfect Chelsea partner for Thiago Silva after free transfer move this summer

Chelsea had the worst goals against record in the 2019/20 Premier League campaign from the top ten and Frank Lampard is hoping to put that right next season.

One of the options for that is bringing in Thiago Silva on a free transfer.

The Brazilian has left PSG after their 1-0 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich last night.

Now the 35-year-old is set to weigh up his options ahead of his next move, and the Blues are being heavily linked with a switch to west London.

6. Jake Clarke-Salter

The 22-year-old has had several loan spells away from the club and is expected to have another for the 2020/21 campaign.

The centre-back has spent time at Bristol Rovers, Sunderland, Vitesse and Birmingham City, and while he has impressed at times it will still be a struggle to get him into the Chelsea first team.

Clarke-Salter has a contract until the end of the 2021/22 season and he will be hoping to get an extension if he goes on loan again.

5. Ethan Ampadu

The 19-year-old is an exciting prospect and so was sent on his first loan at RB Leipzig in the 2019/20 season.

However, it didn’t work out well for him as he made just three substitute appearances in the Bundesliga, with three appearances in the Champions League.

Ampadu wants to fight for his place at Chelsea, although it’s expected that he will head out on another loan.
