PSG could offer Thiago Silva a last minute contract extension in an attempt to scupper his move to Chelsea, according to a report today in the Sun.
A move to Stamford Bridge looked a done deal, but there are apparently now new attempts from manager Thomas Tuchel to persuade sporting director Leonardo that they should make a final attempt to keep the club captain.
It all sounds rather unlikely, for a number of reasons. Silva has been set to leave for some time, and it’s not like the French club haven’t had time to mull this over. The idea that Tuchel is now going to make a new attempt to get Silva to stay, just when a deal has been fixed with Chelsea, seems outlandish.
The Brazil defender has already said his goodbyes in Paris, and admitted he’s moving on – would he really go back on that all now if a new deal was put on the table?
