Thiago Silva’s first words as a Chelsea player as he reveals why he chose the Blues

Chelsea have announced the signing of Thiago Silva on a free transfer.

The Brazilian left PSG after the Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich last weekend, and the Blues have snapped him up on a one-year deal.

Chelsea also have the option of extending his contract for another season, with the 35-year-old adding a great amount of experience to Frank Lampard’s back line.

The Blues really struggled in the 2019/20 campaign in defence, conceding 54 Premier League goals, the worst record inside the top ten.

And Marina Granovskaia has taken the opportunity to bring in the centre-back to help bolster the back four.

Silva won seven Ligue 1 titles with PSG, and the defender is keen to help Chelsea win titles once again in the upcoming season.
