Here are the Chelsea morning headlines for Sunday, August 30.
Chelsea looking to snap up Senegalese stopper
Chelsea’s search for a new goalkeeper has led them to Senegal international Edouard Mendy, according to Goal.
Mendy has been identified as the ideal signing after he helped French club Rennes to a third-place finish in Ligue 1 last season and the club’s first Champions League placing.
The 28-year-old would be bought in either to provide under-fire Kepa Arrizabalaga with competition or be Chelsea’s No.1 should they manage to offload the Spain international goalkeeper.

Havertz’s ex-coach reveals the most special thing about him
Potential Chelsea signing Kai Havertz’s main attribute is his mental strength, according to one of his former coaches.
The Blues are close to sealing a £90million deal to bring the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder to Stamford Bridge.
Should he complete the move, he would become the sixth new arrival at Chelsea this summer.
Tayfun Korkut, who coached Havertz at Leverkusen, told Sky Sports: “This is probably the most special thing about him, his mental power.
“You will not see the difference in him, whether he is playing against Ingolstadt or Real Madrid, he is playing to avoid relegation or win a championship.
“He will always play the same and at a high level. Playing for a big club is different. It is about mental toughness.
“There are a lot of nice young players out there, but to play for the biggest clubs, to play for Bayern Munich, Manchester United or Chelsea, you need to have something more than just that. This boy has that.”
