Frank Lampard and Marina Granovskaia’s next transfer priorities as Chelsea squad depth assessed

Frank Lampard has already made a real statement in the transfer market with five new arrivals in west London.

Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner were the first to join as Chelsea moved quickly to sign the pair from Ajax and RB Leipzig respectively, with their other three deals happening in as many days last week.

Ben Chilwell finally completed his transfer from Leicester City following much speculation over a move to Stamford Bridge, with Malang Sarr then signing on a free the following day after his Nice summer exit.

Thiago Silva signed on the dotted line 24 hours later after the experienced centre-back called time on his eight years in the French capital with Paris Saint-Germain.

That won’t be the end of the Blues’ summer business as Kai Havertz is expected to be the next the follow in a big-money deal from Bayer Leverkusen.

A new goalkeeper will no doubt be Lampard’s priority after the German international signs on as Kepa Arrizabalaga has yet to justify his £71.6m move to the club two years ago.
