The Chelsea exits which will make space in Frank Lampard’s squad and raise Kai Havertz funds

Chelsea have made some stand-out signings over the course of the summer and the transfer market is not close to being finished.

The Blues are close to announcing a deal for Kai Havertz, which would take their spending since the signing of Hakim Ziyech of more than £200million.

Roman Abramovich has shown that he has real commitment at the club and has shown faith in Frank Lampard and the job which he is doing.

However, with the influx of players, there has to be some exits to go along with that. But who will they do?

Emerson Palmieri

With the signing of Ben Chilwell last week it means that Lampard has three first team left-backs on his books, so one has to go.

The first name expected to leave is Emerson Palmieri, with Marcos Alonso likely to keep his place in the squad and be the back-up to Chilwell.

Emerson has struggled during his time with the Blues and has rarely been given an opportunity to start for the club.

The 26-year-old is looking for a way out of the club and he is set for a move back to Italy, with Inter Milan leading the chase for the Italy international.

Michy Batshuayi

The Belgian is another player who has struggled for game time in the first team and has often just been a player who has come off the bench.

The 26-year-old is now well down the pecking order with the arrival of Werner and expected signing of Kai Havertz.

Batshuayi is going to be sent out on a permanent basis or a potential loan with option to buy, with the striker’s time with the Blues coming to an end.
