Kai Havertz could undergo Chelsea medical on Saturday after transfer terms ‘agreed’

Chelsea have finally reached an agreement to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen, with reports in Germany suggesting the player could undergo his medical at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues are set to spend a club-record £90million on Havertz, who is widely considered one of the most exciting youngsters in European football.

At just 21 years of age, the attacking midfielder has already racked up 150 appearances for Leverkusen, while also earning seven caps for his native Germany.

Frank Lampard has therefore made him a top transfer target this summer, and Sky Germany claim the deal is complete.

Their report states that Chelsea and Leverkusen came to a final agreement about the structure of the transfer on Thursday.

The Premier League club will pay an initial £72million for Havertz, with another £18million to come in bonus payments.

It is believed the youngster could complete his medical in London on Saturday, despite a number of reports suggesting he has already done so.

He will first have to get Joachim Low’s permission to do so, nonetheless, having been named in Germany’s squad for upcoming Nations League fixtures against Spain and Switzerland.

Lampard is masterminding a squad revamp at Stamford Bridge ahead of the new season, with Havertz set to become his fifth major signing of the summer.
