The summer’s big transfer saga is finally over.
Kai Havertz is a Chelsea player.
The talent young forward had been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for much of the summer and just a week before the new season kicks off he is a Blue.
Havertz joins Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva as new recruits in Frank Lampard’s squad.
Lampard was hailed for bringing the young players through at Stamford Bridge last season, but where will all these new signings leave the likes of Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi moving forward?

The 21-year-old starred under Lampard during his season at Derby before impressing in the Premier League for the Blues this term.
It is clear that the boss has trust in the England international, and he looks set for a bright future at Stamford Bridge.
However, according to the website Whoscored.com, Mount has started in an attacking midfield role 16 times this season, more than in any other position on the pitch.
Of course, this is Havertz’s role at Leverkusen, and while it is possible both could be utilised in the same starting XI, it is also likely the German will command a first-team spot due to his price tag and reputation, meaning Mount might no longer be an automatic starter for the Blues.
The 24-year-old had been out for a year because of injury before making his return at Aston Villa on Sunday. Predictably, he appeared to be quite rusty.
Loftus-Cheek made 40 appearances under Maurizio Sarri in 2018/19 but started just six Premier League games.
