Mason Mount has been left unhappy by the arrival of German playmaker Kai Havertz, it has been suggested.
Chelsea broke their transfer record this week to bring in Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen in a £90m deal.
The 21-year-old is the Blues’ seventh signing of the summer, following in the footsteps of the likes of Timo Werner and Thiago Silva.
Having splashed more than £200m in this transfer window, many are now predicting that Frank Lampard’s side can challenge for the Premier League title.
But one man who is not happy with the club’s latest addition is attacking midfielder Mason Mount.
Reports in Germany allege that Mason Mount is unhappy at the signing of Kai Havertz
According to German outlet Bild, Havertz’ arrival has left the England international disgruntled, possibly due to the fact they will be in direct competition for a place in the starting line up.
Furthermore, Mount posted welcome messages for Ben Chilwell and Silva after their recent transfers – but he is yet to do so for the Germany international.
Mount has said in the past that he knows there will always be competition for places in his position, but insisted that it spurs him on to perform better.
Chelsea have completed the signing of Kai Havertz
Speaking earlier this year, he said: “For me, it’s about having that same attitude I have had since I was six and making sure I never lose it.
“You just have to fight. You know Chelsea can always buy £60 million or £70m or £80m players that are world-class. They want to come here and take my place.
