Blues make Mendy enquiry
The Mail reports that Chelsea have spoken to Rennes about the prospect of signing Mendy this summer.
The Senegalese star is admired by Chelsea’s head of goalkeeping Christophe Lollichon has worked at Rennes in the past.
Rennes have been linked with a move for Blues centre-back Fikayo Tomori recently, which suggests he could possibly used in an attempt to sweeten a deal.
Chelsea submit fresh Mendy bid
The Blues, who will face Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening day of the new Premier League season, have launched a fresh bid to sign the Rennes shot-stopper.
After seeing an opening offer of £14million turned down for Mendy, the Blues have now lodged an improved bid of £18million to sign the 28-year-old.
That is according to Goal France, who also report that Rennes are determined to keep hold of Mendy this summer after a sequence of impressive performances last season.
Rennes standing firm
Ligue 1 club Rennes are not willing to let go of Mendy this summer without a fight.
That is according to French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi.
But contrary to reports elsewhere, he claims Chelsea have not yet made a formal bid for Mendy, but has confirmed that the Blues have spoke to Rennes about Mendy’s availability.
