Lampard outlines his transfer plan
Frank Lampard has ditched his idea of converting West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice into a centre-back if he was to sign the England international this summer.
Rice, who will be hoping to help England defeat Denmark in the Uefa Nations League this evening, has been closely linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for several months, with Lampard adopting the idea of turning the defensive-midfielder into a central-defender.
However, it is claimed by The Athletic, as cited by the Express, that Lampard has now ditched that plan, with another new centre-back no longer on his to-do list.
Despite that, the Blues do remain keen on Rice, with Lampard of the belief that he will need to add another defensive midfielder to his ranks if either N’Golo Kante or Jorginho leave the club before next month’s transfer deadline.

As well as that, Lampard also has plenty of formations he could potentially play. The easy part has been spending the money; the hard part now comes in the shape…
