The fact that Fernando Torres had his moment of glory against Barcelona in the Champions League semi final back in 2012 shouldn’t detract from the fact that ultimately, he was a flop in West London.
He’s been on TalkSport today speaking to them about how his time at Chelsea, and he’s brutally honest about why he moved, and how he thought it went.
Fans still have good feelings towards Torres, partly because he scored that Nou Camp goal, but also because he always tried his best, even when things weren’t working out for him.
You can hear him speaking in the clip embedded here:
“I thought Chelsea would be the club who will offer me the most chances of winning trophies.”
“#LFC needed five, six or seven years to create a winning team again and I didn’t have that time.”
“I wasn’t consistent.”
