Ben Chilwell stamped his mark on Chelsea’s team yesterday in the 4-0 hammering of Crystal Palace.
It was a first start for the 23-year-old in the league for the England international, and it was like he had been playing with the club for years.
Chilwell slotted nicely in and gave something Frank Lampard had been desperate to have on the left flank over the course of his reign so far.
In the defensive aspect, Chilwell was solid and added to the back four nicely, providing a balance on both sides of the ball.

Chilwell ended his first game with three interceptions to his name, with another clearance to deny a toothless Crystal Palace team.
The 23-year-old had two shots, with one finding the back of the net and providing an assist to Kurt Zouma.
Chilwell had three key passes, being fouled twice on some of his enterprising runs.
He ended the day as Chelsea’s star man, and with a performance that his new boss truly appreciated.
“I thought Ben Chilwell was fantastic in his contribution in all senses,” Lampard said.
“I thought he got his goal, assists, his defensive play, his engine to arrive into attack from that left-hand side and he is always ready to join in all the time.
“Getting up and down, considering the injury he has had.
“With Ben, he is Premier League ready, you could see that with as well as he has done for Leicester. He looked like he had played with us for a long time.”
Having come back from a heel injury, Chilwell still managed to complete 90 minutes, before he will now head off on international duty.
The match was proof that Chilwell was the perfect signing for Lampard and can be a massive player for the Blues.
