Here is your Chelsea morning digest for Sunday, October 11.
Bayern caution Flick following Hudson-Odoi comments
Chelsea had to fend off renewed interest from Champions League winners Bayern Munich this summer for winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The 19-year-old was previously linked with the Bavarian side before signing a long-term deal with Chelsea last season, but a loan move may have been on the cards this summer if Bayern had got their way.
However, the board of the Bundesliga champions were unimpressed with head coach Hansi Flick noting his admiration of Hudson-Odoi in public.
German outlet TZ states Bayern gave Flick a warning in straying from conducting business behind closed doors.
Bayern ended up signing Douglas Costa from Juventus instead, while Hudson-Odoi will be hoping to force his way into Frank Lampard’s side on a regular basis.

Mendy speaks out after injury concern
New Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy withdrew from the Senegal squad last week after suffering an injury on international duty.
He’s now back in London and has undertaken tests to determine the treatment he’ll require, leading to fears the Blues’ new No. 1 might be out for some time.
Mendy is still likely to miss the game against Southampton next weekend, but he posted a message on social media to let fans know he was already working toward a comeback.
“Little hitch, I’m going to do everything I can to come back faster and stronger. Thank you all for your messages,” he wrote on Instagram from Cobham.
Willy Caballero or Kepa Arrizabalaga will take their place between the posts against the Saints, while Mendy is aiming for a return to action for the opening Champions League fixture against Sevilla on October 20.
