N’Golo Kante had a difficult 2019/20 campaign with injuries blighting his campaign throughout the season.
The 29-year-old started only 20 out of the 38 Premier League games last season, while he was only able to appear in four Champions League matches.
Kante was a vital player for Antonio Conte in his Premier League-winning campaign, while being integral to sealing the FA Cup and Europa League in the following years.
However, Lampard did not have the full use of the World Cup winner and it certainly held back his side over the campaign.

But now it’s a new season and there are good signs that the Blues boss is going to get the most out of his key man.
The Blues midfielder has been able to start every Premier League game so far, while also featuring for France during the international break.
The big test, however, will be the coming weeks when the Blues have a busy period of Premier League and Champions League matches almost every other day.
The way that Lampard has set up his side for the majority of the beginning of the campaign has been the 4-2-3-1 formation.
If it is going to be a success, then Kante is the key to that with his ability to add protection for the defence and drive through the midfield.
Kante is an integral part of the squad and keeping him fit is going to be one of Lampard’s priorities if Chelsea are going to challenge for trophies.
