Chelsea have just had a disappointing draw with Southampton, which saw Frank Lampard’s favoured 4231 fail to get a result yet again.
After the game he was asked about his chosen system, and whether he would change it if results continued to be bad. Lampard admitted “there can be changes”, and didn’t hesitate to admit that it hadn’t been a good display, and changes might have to be made.
He did then point out that he wouldn’t put that second half display down to the formation, as there were individual errors involved too.
