Chelsea and Frank Lampard may not have got the result they wanted against Southampton on Saturday, as mistakes proved costly in a 3-3 draw, but there were a few encouraging signs on the injury front.
Hakim Ziyech was able to make his competitive debut for The Blues, playing 17 minutes as a substitute and his return is timely ahead of a big week for Lampard’s side.
The Chelsea boss will also be pleased with the minutes racked up by Ben Chilwell and Christian Pulisic, who have both battled injuries in the early part of the season.
The major concern for Lampard will be his goalkeeper, though, with Kepa Arrizabalaga involved in another cheap goal conceded which proved costly.

The midfielder withdrew from the international squad after Chelsea brokered an agreement with Morocco that he would be allowed to come back to Cobham after playing one fixture.
Ziyech is still awaiting his Chelsea debut after missing the start of the season with a knee injury sustained during a pre-season friendly against Brighton & Hove Albion at the end of August.
The Moroccan was able to make his debut at Stamford Bridge, coming on for Mason Mount inside the final 20 minutes and his availability will be a big boost for Lampard with Sevilla and Manchester United awaiting his side in the next seven days.
