Chelsea duo Timo Werner and Kai Havertz have been lauded by Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl, who says the pair will ‘kill’ teams this season.
Both Werner and Havertz were on the score sheet against the Saints on Saturday, with Werner netting a brace and then assisting Havertz’s goal.
However, the Blues were unable to earn all three points thanks to a typically poor defensive display.
Speaking after the match, Hasenhuttl, who was Werner’s manager when he first joined RB Leipzig back in 2016, praised the forward’s performance.
“I knew the moment would come that he scored his first goal in the Premier League. I hoped it would not be against us,” Hasenhuttl said.

“When you give him space, it’s hard to defend against him. The first goal we made it too easy for him. It’s tough to defend against him. When you are not tight on Timo and Kai Havertz they will kill you.
“But I am really happy that Timo is in England and playing in the Premier League. He’s fantastic for the fans, but it’s good we took a point as otherwise I wouldn’t be so happy for him.”

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright also praised Werner and Havertz after their goals on BBC’s Match Of The Day, saying: “When I’ve watched him [Werner] he doesn’t look too fussed about the fact he hasn’t scored.
“You saw him there talking about how he hadn’t scored in four, but it’s the movement and the runs he’s making. The fact that he, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz seem to have something happening, we can see it starting.”
