Manchester United have confirmed that defender Eric Bailly will be out of action for up to a month with a muscle injury.
The United centre-back was an unused substitute for the weekend’s 4-1 win over Newcastle, but was left out of the travelling squad for the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Ivory Coast international had to watch his teammates from home, as United beat PSG 2-1 thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.
Solskjaer confirmed to Man Utd.com after the match that Bailly – who has suffered from a variety of injury problems during his time at United – will now be out of action until the November international break.

This means the defender is set to miss upcoming fixtures against Chelsea, RB Leipzig, Arsenal, Istanbul Basaksehir and Everton.
Along with Bailly, captain Harry Maguire also missed the match but United fielded a back three of Axel Tuanzebe, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw in their absence, with the trio impressing against the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
“Victor and Axel are our central defenders and played tremendous, but Luke Shaw, normally a full-back, defended really well as a side centre-back,” Solskjaer said after the game.
“I’ve got no issues at all [in defence]. I’m very happy with my players.”
Tuanzebe’s performance was also hailed by former United defender Rio Ferdinand.
“This is where United have struggled in the last six to 12 months, chasing players down those channels,” Ferdinand told BT Sport .
