Timo Werner makes shock admission and reveals three Chelsea legends he wanted to play with

Timo Werner has revealed the three Chelsea legends he wishes he played with.

The striker joined the Blues in the summer but clearly is familiar with the club already, judging by his choices.

Speaking to the club’s Twitter page, Werner picked Didier Drogba, Michael Ballack and Frank Lampard as the trio of legends he wished he could play alongside.

As Marcos Alonso and Reece James spent time considering their options, Werner was a lot quicker to answer.

He said simply: “Drogba, Ballack and Lampard.”

Unsurprisingly, former German midfielder Ballack was on the list.

Werner’s compatriot has talked up the former RB Leipzig’s ability and previously said he was right to move to the Blues over Liverpool.

Lampard is another straightforward choice, with Werner joking that he was looking to get into the Chelsea manager’s good books.

His other choice of Drogba would no doubt lead plenty of Blues fans to dream of what would be a lethal strike partnership between the two attackers.

Alonso, meanwhile, went a little more old school and chose John Terry at his peak, Gianfranco Zola and Gus Poyet.

James’ choices were Drogba, Michael Essien and Lampard.
