Frank Lampard’s surprise team selection for this evening’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United has got a number of Chelsea fans talking.
Not only has the Blues head coach switched to a back three, but he’s also dropped Mason Mount from the starting XI.
Overall, Lampard has made just the one change to the side that were held to a goalless draw at home by Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night as captain Cesar Azpilicueta returns.

The Spaniard look set to line up on the right-hand side as one of three central defenders alongside Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma in front of Edouard Mendy.
This formation change means Reece James and Ben Chilwell are the selected wingbacks for the big game at Old Trafford.
N’Golo Kante will partner Jorginho in central midfield, as Mateo Kovacic is left on the bench once again.
In attack, it seems Kai Havertz will operate as a false nine with Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner offering support in the wide areas.
Alternatively, it could be Havertz from the right, Pulisic from the left, and Werner – who opened his account in the Premier League last weekend with a brace against Southampton – through the middle.
Chelsea XI: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Zouma; James, Kante, Jorginho, Chilwell; Pulisic, Havertz, Werner
Most of the reaction from Chelsea supporters on social media has centred around Mount being named on the bench.
